El Grupo de Comunicaciones tiene una elevada experiencia en el análisis, diseño y evaluación de sistemas de comunicaciones, fijos y móviles, así como en el desarrollo de técnicas de procesado de señal para mejorar sus prestaciones, lo que permite ofrecer alternativas para optimizar las aplicaciones y servicios que se soportan en ellos.

Su principales líneas de Investigación son:
- Sistemas multiantena (MIMO y MIMO Masivo)
- Modulación multiportadora OFDM y variantes (para NB-IoT, evolución de 5G,…)
- Análisis, detección e inhibición de señales
- Transmisión coordinada y cancelación de interferencias (Small cells,…)
- Mecanismos de acceso aleatorio y gestión de recursos radio (IoT, Multicast, Broadcast,…).

Trabajamos en el diseño y la aplicación de las técnicas anteriores a: redes inalámbricas de área local/metropolitana (WLAN, WMAN), sistemas móviles de próxima generación, sistemas de comunicaciones por satélite y comunicaciones con luz visible (VLC, LiFi).

The Communications Group has extensive experience in the analysis, design and evaluation of fixed and mobile communications systems, as well as in the development of signal processing techniques to improve their performance, which allows offering alternatives to optimize their applications and services.

The research activities of this group are focused in the following research lines:
- Multiantenna systems (MIMO and massive MIMO)
- Multicarrier modulation, OFDM and variations (for NB-IoT, beyond 5G,…)
- Analysis, detection and signal inhibition
- Coordinated transmission and interference cancellation (e.g. for small cells)
- Random access and radio resource management (Iot, Broadcast/Multicast)

We work in the application of these techniques to wireless networks including WLAN, WMAN, next generation mobile systems, satellite communications and visible light (VLC, LiFi).
